The Mont-Sauvage project overlooks a small river nestled in a wooded area in Sainte-Adèle. Evoking the camp pavilions of the Laurentians, this 1800 sq. ft. chalet is built on a single level and blends discreetly into the forested landscape. Its T-shaped layout separates the sleeping wing from the living spaces, which open towards the back of the property. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are organized around the central fireplace in the open-plan space. Dressed in cedar boards, the three-season veranda extends the main axis towards the edge of the woods.

The exterior cladding, made of horizontal forest green pine siding, enhances the linearity of the design and camouflages the building within its forested context. The large low-pitched roof, covered with standing seam metal, creates wide overhangs that offer effective protection against solar heat gain and weather elements. The cavities in the 2x8 wood frame and the roof are filled with cellulose fiber, while the structure is covered with wood fiber panels, giving the house superior energy performance and fully bio-sourced insulation.
